Modern Anime Vs Classic

I know Modern anime is visually more beautifull than classic anime, but leaving the visuals aside, and concentrating on the story and concept altogether, which anime do you really think is better, modern anime like naruto, bleach, one piece, or classics like the whole dragonball franchise, rorouni kenshin, yuyu hakusho, saint seya, cowboy bebop, etc..

I have a mixed opinion here, I think some older animes have awesome story etc. Same with some of newer ones. Code Geass is one of the best I've ever seen, second to One Piece, but animes like Evangelion, Dragon Ball etc are not bad either, so I don't judge them old vs. new, but anime vs. anime individually.

i like the modern and classic,but.... naruto is my all-time favorite manga/anime and dbz is my 2nd favorite so i'll go with modern.

also i like bleach better than a lot of the classics, well, it probably ties with yu yu hakusho and maybe inyuasha.

Cowboy Bebop is not classic anime.

Shows like Volotron and Robotech are classic anime.

DB, DBZ, DBGT, were all so amazing!!....at their time, now it isnt that interesting, i liked it a bunch, but personally i say the new gen of anime are better, OP, bleach, Naruto S, FT etc..

It's hard not to be biased growing up on the classics, the DBZ series has always been my favorite and Vegeta is still the baddest motherfuker in my book. With that being said I have to admit the story wasn't that great lol It was good enough for me at the time, but now when I look back I cringe a little. But fuk it the battles were so epic I didn't care being a little kid, I'll never forget those Majin Vegeta episodes. I still foam at the mouth from it's sheer awesomeness.

WTF, what do you mean the story isn't that great. I am rewatching DB right now and I can say the story is way better than what we get now. It only gets better in DBZ, all the characters get great development as the story goes on, every character stays true to what they are, the bad guys are awesome, battles are awesome, Shit the story is so good almost all the mangas copy from it O_O

It only gets better in DBZ, all the characters get great development as the story goes on, every character stays true to what they are, the bad guys are awesome, battles are awesome, Shit the story is so good almost all the mangas copy from it O_O

Personally, I just don't think it was that great. Powerful enemy comes out of nowhere, the good guys get stronger, there's peace for a little while, then another powerful enemy comes out of nowhere, the good guys get stronger, etc etc. Yes, character progression and the story behind the villains was neat but that doesn't change the overall formula.

Why the name calling :shrug:
I watch other animes, but when you see so many things that they copied from the DB story its just hard to see it better than the original. I for one like the DB story
