I know that mod applications are sent in when a post is made by the higherups saying that there's an opening.
My question is: What kinds of things are looked at?
For example, I have a good few bans under my belt, but they were all because I question the practices of mods and the application of rules. I'm not banned for flaming people, or for obscenities, I'm banned when I get into arguments with current moderators about proper use of the rules.
For example, the rules here are taken out of the context that they were created. I've been infracted before for multiposting. I discussed that posting a couple times isn't an issue, that rule was made to stop people from posting literally 100 times in a row to boost post counts and view counts. If someone posts like twice in a row, there really isn't an issue.
Apparently the moderators didn't like the way i approached the topic and that is an example of one of my bans.
I get that mods should "follow rules" but if me not following a rule is in the pursuit of creating a better narutobase, I think I should be viewed like more of a martyr than a criminal.
I mean hell, Nelson Mandella was in prison for years yet became the president of South America.
Not to compare myself with a great man of his stature, but my point is, Do you need a spotless record to be considered as a potential moderator? Or will i have to create a new account with a clean slate (I'M KIDDING).
Also are things like post count taken into consideration? Activeness? Time of day active? I'm just curious what things are looked at.
If i could get an ADMIN to answer, that'd be cool
