Yeah, the whole rising up from humble to awful origins is a common mainstay in most literature, especially shonnens, so I'm not surprised that you'd take a liking to it. It also makes rping more interesting, as the character has an actual motive from the start, instead of struggling to figure out what you want to do with the character, as I currently am having this sort of difficulty with Agnes :/.
