Having a horn doesn't make them similar and besides, Toneri's mode is a result of the Tenseigan.

The title says mitsuki sage mode not Mitsuki chakra mode.

You pointed 2 similarities that I was talking about, the eyes black markings (often indicating sage mode), and the horn.
You forgot to mention the chakra hairs similarity, that is often indicating chakra mode.

Also, Orochimaru and old Mitsuki talk of him as the sun light (Boruto) reflected by the moon illuminating NV's darkness, and Toneri comes from the moon...

Look at the back of his head; the chakra snakes are coming from there. Also, the horn is a different shape and the eye markings are completely different... The outline of hair is still visible on Mitsuki, not on Toneri's. They only look similar because their hair is a similar style to begin with, so when thrusted upwards by a power spike, they seem similar.

The link is that they look stupid as ****. Mitsuki's looks like Fairy Tail BS with his Ghost Rider hair, unicorn forehead and Nightwing's mask wanna be ass eyes.

Should have just made it without that horn and dark circles around his eyes which would become snake-like.

Madara had Hashirama's Cells but does that make Hashi as Madara's brother?

First to prove your point you need to bring a fact about Toneri had *** with someone and Mitsuki born later on or Toneri gave his sperm to Oro or anything that can prove Toneri as his father.

People in Naruto can have a DNA/Cells of anybody but that doesn't make them related to the DNA User.

Naruto received Power up from Hagoromo, he then able to used TSB and fly, does that make Hagoromo Naruto's father or uncle.

I think Orochimaru is trying to achieve what Naruto had achieved.

Since chakra mode is on Hamura's side while Sage mode is on Hagoromo's side..
If that's how theyre going to go on about it, I prefer not to make them a one hit wonder and just spam the 1st 3 abilities that they get.

Also, now we have a backstory of the Shin Clones (doujustu) and Mitsuki Clones (vitality).. I wonder what kinds of experiment Orochimaru is thinking about when touching himself

Yes, I compare Mitsuki's sage mode to Toneri's chakra mode, because they look similar and they seem to have attributes both of chakra mode and senin mode.

First notice that Toneri's chakra mode have some attributes of a sage mode (black markings).

Then notice that Mitsuki's sage mode have attributes of a chakra mode (chakra hairs, as I clearly see that there is chakra escaping from his hairs, unlike you).

And finally add the central horn, and the fact that adult Mitsuki talk about him as the moonlight.

When I first saw Mitsuki colored, I thought he was the child of Toneri.

And then I noticed his eyes...

WTF kind of Powerpuff boy is Mitsuki?

He looks like Kabuto with a single horn. He looks hardly like Toneri who is coated in energy, Mitsuki just very very scaly.

you are seeing Mitsuki Tainted but strong charka coming to life.. that effect the surrounding like Orochimaru, Hirzuen, Hashirama, Tobi...etc.

mitsuki show as the Unicorn...while Boruto will be seen as the Lion.. an Sarada will be the Mouse..lol

Nice catch, I didn't see that strong similarity with the byakugan.
