So based on the spoilers, Kawaki is going to be Boruto`s main rival and parallel. If so then what was the point of the Mitsuki Oneshot? The Sun and Moon parallel doesn't mean jack if Mitsuki is just going to be another Sai.

The problem was we rushed the meaning of the parallel too fast. Plus, Mitsuki was holding a stack of papers, but Kishimoto tricked us into thinking that it was just Boruto.

Orochimaru was just using a metaphor, he wants Mitsuki to be Boruto's motivating factor like Sasuke was to Naruto. He wasn't talking about the symbols in a literal sense.

i.e : Hinata's eyes represent the moon while Naruto's body represents the sun, they complete each other in a metaphorical sense as husband and wife, but their powers are no where near the same level.

Just cause we saw mitsuki being somewhat related to the moon does not necessarily mean that he is obviously going to be his rival...He could just be a friend you know.
