Maybe Oro has something in store for Mitsuiki, the last panel with the Full Moon and Mitsuki means something big is gonna happening the near future. Who knows. Kishi doesnt care about power levels and characters fighting prowess nearly as much as the fandom does, im starting to think he actually believes the crap he wrote in the movie, that Boruto can surpass Naruto.

Well I figured what-ever Orochimaru is after, it has something to do with Konohagakure's Genin. Because it looks like they gave him a mission, and in Mitsuki's hands there's a Ninja-Page of Boruto (like the one they usually have which reveals all their information).

In fact it makes perfect sense now because when Mitsuki showed up, he was talking to Chou Chou and Sarada as if he already knew them, even mentioned Chou Chou's Clan too, right? Still that doesn't answer why he needs a chakra mode (or what-ever that ability is) because if he threatened anyone in Konoha, I doubt he would be able to overpower an Adult (until seen otherwise). Nor would he be powerful enough to not get curb stomped by a tired, and drained clone Naruto.

But what throws me off at the whole thing is that Mitsuki was smiling at Boruto's picture, which means it might not be exactly what I think it is. When it comes to Boruto surpassing Naruto, sure. At this point Kishimoto can do what ever he wants, he already has. If we are being realistic, he can't as given what is shown now, but that doesn't mean he can't receive BS later on. Like you said, I sincerely doubt Kishimoto cares about power levels at all. Just fandom getting butt hurt when someone is stronger than someone else :lol

It would be interesting, in my opinion. Especially if people cared more about character development instead of character upgrades.

However from what I've seen, it will never happen. Imagine if some of the popular characters were fodder tier class :lol

Yeah i looked over the raws and it seems that their are multiple profiles of ninja(probably the Genin like you said because of Boruto's page) in that scroll. Why is he gathering info on them? Oro is being oro i guess, always after little kids. Wth is Yamato doing anyway? I wonder if Oro even knows Mistuki could transform, he seemed quite surprised tbh, pointless to speculate right now with the translations i guess.Yup he doesnt care, same goes for what a character can or cant do especially with the main duo. Naruto and Sasuke are as strong as plot/Kishi allows them to be, they use whatever abilities the plot allows them to, in order fit the narrative. The Boruto movie is prime example of this.Oh well, Mistuki chakra mode still looks cool though.
