The whole team dynamic was bullshit from the very beginning, since it limits the characters from being able to realistically interact with others. It should have been like The Last where teams are assigned based on the mission at hand.

Mitsuki is more like a machine that has the mission of following and protecting Boruto programmed into his database. In short, I don't see Mitsuki as being gay as many people suggest. I see him as more robotic in nature, with Boruto programmed in as his objective. In fact, I don't think Mitsuki even has much of a concept of romance right now.

Anyway, I did notice that Mitsuki didn't seem to give two cents about Sarada, and I found it funny.

It's fine though. The new team 7 still works together a lot better than the old one. They are not dysfunctional as everyone says.

We should blame Orochimaru since this is his fault. He is the one that erased Mitsuki's memory multiple times and set up a scenario where his reward for finally passing the test was a box with Boruto's picture in it which pretty much brainwashed him into his mind that his main purpose and goal in life was to be obsessed with Boruto. There is nothing natural about his relationship with Boruto. He was set up to be obsessed with Boruto before he even met him and his main reason for even coming to Konoha was to be around him. He would have probably freaked out if he was not on Boruto's team.

Now here is an interesting question. Think of a Dark Knight scenario where both Boruto and Sarada are kidnapped in different locations and there is a bomb that will explode and kill them. He only has time to save one of them. I doubt he would even take a second to think before choosing to save Boruto.
