Mitsuki and Sarada Are Simply Not Really Main Characters in The Manga

This has been made obvious the last chapter with the arc being over after they both hardly did anything and now the focus is clearly on Kawaki. The two main characters at this point are Boruto and Kawaki and it is now their story. Boruto is the main character and Kawaki is the secondary main character as his new rival/friend/enemy. Everyone else is merely there to fill space in the manga. It makes sense though with the slow monthly pace that the current manga already goes at it would move at a glacial pace if too many people got heavy focus. The huge majority of development for Mitsuki and Sarada in this series will have to come in the anime with them fighting for bits and scraps in the manga.

Pretty much, although there might be a decent chance they don’t have the time to flesh out other characters. Like maybe the series as a whole is shorter and the focal point doesn’t really need the developing of even the other mains and what not. Or... maybe everything’s gone to shit and I’m just making excuses. The former gives me hope though, as I could see it being pretty good as a short series. At least better than it’s doing now if they’re aiming for another naruto in scope.

I gave up a sevwral chapters ago, at this point it's better if the series gets cancelled. Even if the master of ass pulls and handouts is the only MC then the story is still trash. There's no excuse for bad writing period, the shits all over the place.

Well I mean of course unlike Naruto and Shippuden where Naruto and Sasuke was MC and somewhat Kakashi and Sakura, Boruto series is legit only about him so far and centered around him.

Even Konohamaru is a side character. it's all boruto. I don't expect sarada to get any real development, expect her and mitsuki to randomly throw out new jutsu in battle without any info on how they got it.

Konohamary has been useless, it's very uninspired writing to be honest. I could do better.

It's still such a shame, because both of these characters have potential to become some of the greatest in the whole Naruto series in general, but, there's nothing we can do, sadly.

The new characters are really boring, it feels like everyone's an Uchiha wannabee. :/

They just might at this point. Theres a couple of “major” things missing from one to the other. At this point I’m done being disappointed with the series and just taking it as it comes. If they manage to wrap up the main story arc(boruto, kawaki, and the end of shinobi) in a coherent and enjoyable way, I’ll consider it a success. I’m kinda done wishing, hoping, or bitching for anything else
