No. They're saying hashirama is stronger than minato because hashirama would stomp minato any day of the week. It has nothing to do with the nine tails incident.

I get what you are trying to say...but still....one can say that even if you use how both handled their Kurama battle to gauge who's better....the odds are still greatly in Hashi's favour.

Minato 'saved' the village by sealing 'half' of Kurama in himself. The only other choice for him would have been to teleport the beast to a far away land....but that's not a permanent solution cuz of the chakra drain and the fact that Kurama would just keep coming back.

Hashi, on the other hand, had plenty options for Kurama even if it launched its attack in the village. The Wood Dragon is just one of a variety of permanent solutions that would have neutralized the threat without Hashi having to commit suicide. The Sage Mode summoning of the Statue with a Thousand Hands would be totally unneccessary....and remember....Hashi could still just control the bijuu.

In the end...Minato's handling of Kurama was his only choice. Not that it made him a weak Hokage...but judging by the options on Hashi's table for a similar scenario of a Kurama attack in Konoha....you can safely say:

Hashi still trumps Minato

Hashirama is stronger as minato for sure but you can't compare those 2 just by a fight with kurama.
The conditions where totally different, minato as 4th hokage had to protect the village and his people and fight obito and kurama.
So 1 thing he did not failed at, and that was protecting the village

Why do people keep on saying hashirama is stronger than minato because he beat the nine tails and minato didnt? Now im not saying that hashirama is weaker than minato, im saying that if they were to fight, either could win. Minato didnt lose to the nine tails, he died trying to protect kushina and naruto. What is hashirama were to die protecting madara in the old days(you know he would have died for madara) it would be the smae thing. Minato could have beaten the nine tails. And also, minato was fighting in the village, so he had to protect the village while fighting obito and the nine tails.

its true minato was capable of defeating kyuubi...kyuubi itself acknowledged him...but comparing minato over hashirama seems bit unfair...hashirama's wood technique is far greater than minato's jutsu's... he was capable of restraining bijuu's which is not possible for minato...
