From all other translations I've read, Kisame states that its his third time fighting Guy:

To me, this translation makes more sense. Kishi wouldn't leave something so open ended and not tell us considering someone better at Taijutsu than Guy would be entirely impossible. Keep in mind that a statement like "Seeing someone with *yadda yadda* is a rarity" basically means that person is the best in the Narutoverse with it. How many people can you say have Susanoo? Sasuke Madara and Itachi maybe? Remember that Tobi called that a 'rarity', so there is nothing beyond Guy's level of Taijutsu and likely no one else has achieved it.

I don't want to go too much into this, but remember the mistranslation in 510 about Tobi hunting down paths? Ie him and Hashi being paths 1 and 2 and Nagato being 3? That was obviously a mistranslation and a lot of us were waiting for things to happen that were never going to because there were never '6 paths' just the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Sage's of the 6 Paths. I hope ppl get where I'm going with this, but considering we have yet to see a person top Guy's Taijutsu (which again is impossible IMO) than I have to say that there is indeed no one better than him and thus your thread is based on a mistranslation.

This^

Its only a mistranslation.

I Agree with the Bolded.

Actually, I think Kisame was trying to point out the irony of the situation. He calls Guy a rare beast because of the fact that he specializes in Taijutsu. Yet Guy is not really a rare opponent for Kisame seeing as that was their third encounter.

Even though I was the bolded I agree with you, I was just about to write that after re-reading the panel. Kisame does say it ironically, he called him rare but yet fought him 3 times so he isn't so rare. if that made sense.

what a waste of your time.

this is so not important, and you have no evidence to support any of your theories as to who these other 2 might be.

Kisame only lost because he thought Gai's final attack was chakra based. Kisame can defeat Gai without Samehada but he can dominate Gai with Samehada.

Kisame was probably referring to their 3rd encounter.

Even in the anime it said "It is my third time fighting you and you still had a jutsu like this up your sleeve blah blah..."

It was a mistranslation as so many have pointed out.

Who could be stronger (or as strong)... my pick... A and Tsunade. Frog fu is good, but senjutsu lasts like 5 mins, not a great thing...
