Mistake or sudden question in the Manga

i was reading a few old Manga Chapters and realized something.

As we know Oro tried to summon 3 coffins so everyone predicted that Minato would be in there. The problem is he is sealed in the Death God.
So who was in the 3rd coffin? or is it really a mistake?

This has already been explained by Kabuto and COMMON SENSE. Yes, it was Minato. Orochimaru didn't know that he was sealed in the Death God, hence his surprise. It was a mistake on Oro's part, not Kishi's.

It was Minato. The reason the summoning failed was because Minato was trapped in the Death God, Sarutobi never stopped it. Kabuto explained this in the Manga (not sure if you read the Manga aswell).

The symbols on the front of the coffins say "1st" for Hashirama "2nd" for Tobirama and "4th" for Minato.

There's a tiny plot hole. Kishi made it look like the third stopped the summon, but later he came up with the idea that sealed people can't be revived with Edo Tensei.

it was minato, the third thought he cancelled the third coffin but he didnot. The real reason why minato didnt show up was already stated on ur first post op.

No he didn't. Happened in the anime only. The 3rd was very surprised when the resurrection failed:

"Not to mention that those corpses are…!! Gah… No matter what, the third person…" (「しかもこの死人は…!!くっ……三人目は何としても…」, "Shikamo kono shibito wa…!! Kuh…… Sanninme wa nan toshite mo…"), and "Somehow, the third one was held back…" (「…どうにか三人目はくい止めたが…」, "…Dō ni ka sanninme wa kui tometa ga…")

What the hell are you talking about? Kabuto said the technique failed BECAUSE Minato used the Dead Demon Consuming Seal.

That's not a plot hole in the slightest, it's surprise and exposition. who expects 2 long-since dead legends to be resurrected? That's how manga writers tend to convey information: have one character who doesn't know what's going on then have another present explain.

You do realize that part was translated incorrectly right? Hence why I posted what he actually says.

it was to show that minato is stronger than any other kage. thats why hiruzen tried to stop it. and then do you know why orochimaru tried to summon the fourth? coz he thinks he can summon him, however he is not aware of the technique Dead Demon Consuming Seal. thats why he doesnt know that minato was sealed in the belly of the death. as stated by sarutubi to orochimaru " a jutsu that you dont know"

Then why did Kishi made ANBU the noob character? Aren't the stone faces BIG ENOUGH already? Don't they teach about previous Hokages at academy, anything? ANBU is the highest rank besides Kage in the villages. How the hell did he become an ANBU. What's next, Kage asking what is a Jutsu?
