Edo Itachi needed Sasuke's help at least twice, else Kabuto would have won.

And you can always say that Itachi wasn't fighting to kill, but the same goes for Kabuto - Kabuto wanted to make Itachi his puppet again, because he thought that his own "power" will increase by having a strong puppet.

All in all, Edo Itachi would lose against Kabuto if both had an intent to kill. And non-edo Itachi would be defeated mid difficulty.

But Edo Itachi + Sasuke would take it, if both sides had intent to kill. High difficulty.

anyway what he wanted was to reform the seal in his neck, as you might have noticed that is put in all of them, so he could gain control of itachi again and then capture sasuke. but it is a matter of fact that itachi has tools and jutsu capable of destroying any opponent stronger than him, that is why he is the most fearsome opponent you can have. kabuto was hot headed and arrogant, itachi would have used that, izanami or not, itachi would win against kabuto, would be tough, but he would win, but kabuto could still beat many opponents stronger than itachi, it is that simple fact that itachi can beat many opponent stronger than him, but it doesnt make him the strongest, he is just the smartest

Personal opinion and nothing more. Itachi is more of a philosopher and even though his analytical skills are great, he's not the best. It was stated that there's no one better than Kakashi when it comes to analyzing skills and manga feats pretty much confirm this (even in Part I Kakashi was able to notice there shouldn't be a water puddle because it didn't rain, he noted that the rabbit had to be there for substitution jutsu purposes and he is the one that cracked Obito's s/t ninjutsu. Itachi's only real analytical feat was finding a counter to Chibaku Tensei).

Well this is all very good, but we have seen kakashi so much in the manga, so none compare to him. Even Kakashi praised Itachis talent as of when he became anbu etc., so it would appear even kakashi thought he was more talented than himself, but w/e I agree from manga evidence that kakashi is smarter of course.

You're wrong. They struggled to beat Kabuto because they weren't fighting to kill. SO in essence they did struggle, but if they were aiming to kill I'm pretty sure they would have killed him easier than how that fight happened.

If itachi would have wanted to kill Kabuto he would have been death..
There is a big different btw someone who wants to capture a guy than someone who wants to kill a guy..
First none of kabuto jutsu would have really work because as we could see, Itachi's fastest cowboy hand seals are over>Kabuto.

Some forgot that itachi was so fast doing the Handseals before kabuto could even think or had the chances to use his ninjutsu, itachi used the Water Dragon Jutsu or whatever whats that thing even before kabuto could finish his jutsu..

but itachi can counter that thing with ninjutsu without kabuto even finish his handseals!

When itachi used the jutsu, simple the first time kabuto stabbed itachi and as we know he turned himself crow and slashed him

-itachi saw and finish before kabuto who had the headstart finish his own, but the funy is that itachi launched it and reach kabuto before the guy even shoot the jutsu.

Others might desagreed and say, the katon and the water clased and itachi won because water>fire.
-sasuke and kabuto's jutsus clashed
-it din't happen with itachi, he was so fast that kabuto coulndt react or finish his jutsu!.
-so itachi might canceal any jutsu kabuto tries to shoot without even giving him the chances to react or finish.
