Misconception that Obito fought on par with Minato

For a while now I've been hearing people say that Tobi couldn't be Obito because how can a 14 year old fight the 4th Hokage so well or Minato sucks because he barely defeated a 14 year old kid.

But sit back and really think about it, what Obito really do in that battle. Spamming Kamui and phasing through all of your opponents attacks ins't putting up a good fight if you're not landing any hits. Minato figured him out quickly and completely fodderrized him afterwards. All Obito did was phase through Minato's attacks, which btw would've worked against anyone. By that logic 14 year old Obito is on par with Hashirama, Madara, Bijuu Naruto, EMS Sasuke, and many other OP characters just because he can just stand there and phase their attacks without causing any damage in return.

Also by that logic Shadow Cat from the X-Men is also on par with the characters I just named. I hope you've begun to realize how dumb it is to believe that Obito put up a good fight against Minato.

Now by no means am I an Obito hater, I like him much more than Minato and I believe Minato is slightly overrated (only slightly, so don't get butthurt Minato fans)I will probably make a thread on why I believe Obito w/ Rinnegan & 6 paths > Minato, but Minato takes this one by a landslide and anyone who thought that battle was close needs to see an opthamologist and get their eyes checked.

Well, one can say he did put up a good fight as Minato needed FTG Level 2 to beat him, but I overall agree with what you're saying.

Minato thinks otherwise. In fact, the only reason why Obito lost was because he had no prior knowledge to FTG lvl 2. That plus he was running on a time limit much like Minato himself.

thank you ive said this multiple time on this site it just aggravates me when i see people say i cant believe obito fought toe to toe with minato. when obito was just going ghost mode the whole fight until he was figured out applaud for this thread

Yeah I see what you're saying too but that's only because of Obito's OP ability. I'm saying anybody would be baffled if their opponent was phasing through all of their attacks.

Obito didn't even manage to damage Minato, and Minato defeated him rather quickly too..

Agreed, it's been annoying me ever since people were pushing aside the Obito theories (back when he was still Tobi) just because he was on Minato's "level", it's obvious that wasn't the case..Thank You

You don't even have to see through an opponents moves when you can phase through all of them, can't you see what I'm trying to say?

Yes thank you you're definitely right, I wish I was more active on this site at the time. I was just more of a wanderer back then, I read the topics without commenting. But yeah everyone has alittle bias in them but I try my hardest not to be bias..but in this case it's easy not be bias because it's obvious that Obito got annihilated. And that Minato vs Obito thing was never a legitimate plothole to being with, I don't what some people were thinking...

The thing about it is that people truly believe that Obito went toe to toe with Minato, so it's not obvious to everyone..

Not really fodderize but I do agree that 6 paths Obito definitely takes that one. Current Obito is a different story.

Yeah I've recently noticed that Itachi fans seem to dislke Minato and Minato fans dislike Itachi..probably because of all the Minato/Itachi versus threads.

And ofc obito had a chance.. only reason he lost was because he was unaware of ftg v2.. What would have happened if obito knew about it? we'd be looking at a totally different fight

That only speculation, I'm basing this off of what I've seen and Obito got destroyed so bad to the point that it confirmed for me that Tobi couldn't have possibly been Madara. Oh btw Minato wasn't aware of Obito's ability ay first either, so both opponents went into the fight unaware of the other's abilities.
