watch your step when you get up kids because I'm about to drop some knowledge
there is a lingering misconception that the raikages's guillotine drop would have been fatal to sasuke in their fight at the kage summit. this is total BS and here's why
the raikage was only able to break through sasuke's enton ribcage because it was just a regular flame
here we see the raikage easily passes through the flames unopposed.
now heres where people seem to believe the raikage wins
this misconception is the raikage would have just passed through the flames and gone on to kill sasuke.
now why would those spikes react the same as regular flames?
just because they are made of "fire" doesn't mean they would react as such
here an example of how enton can become a solid object
does fire posses the ability to cleave? and would the object no be on fire immediately after?
here we see the contrary is true
now that I've shown that enton doesn't react like normal fire, what leads you to believe these enton spikes would have reacted differently?
what is the point of sasuke making spikes it they would have just reacted like this? would sasuke have not just used the same technique?
conclusion: clearly the enton would have server to slow the momentum of the raikage( making his attack less effective) and sever/pierce his falling leg. end result is a best case scenario crippled raikage whose attack would have even been strong enough to kill sasuke. clearly gaara was there to save the raikage
