Not a huge thread but...

I saw some threads claiming that Madara was having difficult capturing Naruto and the other jinchūriki. This isn’t the case. A further look in to the translation confirms this.

“意外にできる” “not a bad look” or “not so bad as they look”

The above is Madara’s reaction to the matter. He is not giving Naruto and Bee a huge compliment, only a deserving one, he’s acknowledging their strength. The author is implicating that Madara slightly reprioritize his aims.

Madara intentionally threw the little skirmish he had with Naruto and Bee, to test out the Jūbi’s powers. You can understand this better by adding in Obito’s words. That’s why you made this happen on purpose…/ That’s why you deliberately… [ ] [ ]

I hope this clears up that misconception.

Good point, it makes sense he would need something to test the Juubi's power on. Never thought of it that way.

I still thought Madara > Naruto and this definitely makes a good case for it.

What's funny is that Madara already acknowledged Naruto's strenght since he saw his clone destroying his Mokuton before the fight against Kages, so the fact he says again "not so bad as they look" makes no sense, since he should have already known how strong Naruto was. Anyway Madara doesn't seems to be the type of guy who give compliments unless it's his beloved Hashirama U_U

Funny thing is, he says "さてと" [now then, and now] not "しゃーないわ" [oh well]

Yes. Madara basiclly said there better than he thought.
Basically, but some interpreted that as him having difficulty in capturing the two.

Yea another thing, and I think you brought this up. Madara obviously wanted to test the Juubi's powers. He specifically told Obito to take care of kakashi and gai and let him fight the Bijuu. If he beats and absorbs them, Obito's not gonna let him run off and go test the Juubi on some one else, so yeah, I can see him leaving them to finish off with the Juubi.

He's referring to both jinchūriki's now, not just Naruto. Before, Naruto did not have has current abilities that Madara is witnessing at the time; so Madara praise also goes to that. Furthermore, Madara is not above giving compliments to those who have surprised him in strength. Like the five Kages. [ ], [ ]

Nice thread + rep and I agree. Can't believe a lot of people think that Naruto is stronger than Madara if he wasn't edo but still had all of his current powers.

Sadly, almost the entire population of NB will never understand this and keep believing the misconception.
