[Misconception] Itachi is invincible

There has been a misconception that Itachi is "invincible". Many fans use this scan to claim his invincibility:

However they are wrong. He is not invincible in any way.

Invincibility definition: too powerful to be defeated or overcome. Also:

Kirin damaged Itachi, so he isn't invincible.

Itachi's death meant he wasn't invincible, for death is a form of defeat.

What people don't realize is that the very thing that makes him invincible also kills him.

When he has v4 out, with Yata, he really is invincible in the sense that no attack can pass the mirror (depending on how you want to argue the hype, the portrayal, etc). However, v4 also drastically takes a toll on his body, and coupled with his sickness, slowly kills him.

In a VS scenario, an opponent who can outlast him in v4 (if he has to resort to that) with sufficient speed to avoid Totsuka can overcome this "invincibility" and win the matchup.

But at the end of the day, does it matter whether he really is invincible or not? If you ask me, I'd say no. Itachi is truly an amazing character, with so much more to offer aside from his power. Many people won't ever see that, because they are so focused on trivial things like his power, when there is a world of complexity and symbolism in his character to discover.

Itachi could have solo'd aids if he wanted to. He just has to Tsukiyomi himself in the mirror and scare the aids out of him, or he can use his Sharingan to fin the aid cells and kill them.

Fodder aids have nothing on Itachi.
