Misconception about pain and Genjutsu

Pain can not be affected by visual genjutsu

In pain vs Itachi/Sasuke threads a lot of accent has been Made on genjutsu

even Though i think itachi is Capable of beating Pain

i think only Sound genjutsu can work on him . the Genjutsu used by the Sage toads was a Sound genjutsu

Izanami can affect pain though, and since I assume Rinnegan originates from the Uchiha bloodline and technically Pain's Rinnegan is an evolved Sharingan I assume Genjutsu cannot affect him.

We've never Nagato/Pain get caught in a visual jutsu for one thing. So we cant really say. However, there is no evidence that it cant be used on him either.

Nagato and all Uchihas are vunerable to sound genjutsu and Orochimaru is full of them(probably). He created the SOUND Village afterall.

We can't assume anything yet... we've never seen anyone attempt to use Genjutsu on Pain except for the Frog jutsu. However, since the counter against Itachi's Genjutsu we've seen so far has been to simply avoid looking in his eyes or at his ring, I think Nagato would win against him, that is, if he has full intel on him, and seeing that he is the leader of Akatsuki, I think he does have full intel on Itachi

I get what your saying(I think). Izanami is only useful against people who basiclly in denial or lying to themselves. About 95% of the narutoverse know who they are and accept it.

That's a common misconception. As far as we know the Rinnegan is not an evolution of the Sharingan but rather the Sharingan that is a degeneration or dilution of the Rinnegan. Most theories also blame a cross breed between the Rinnegan and the Jubbi's chakra.

With that being said just because you mastered the black belt on Karate that does not mean a white belt can't land you a blow on your face. Mastering something does not grant you immunity to it, especially since Nagato never had the Sharingan and therefore does not know their techniques nor how the work.

If we were talking about Madara then I could assume that this logic might work but not with Nagato.
