Series Summary: Yuki is a withdrawn kid who spends his time writing everything in his diary and talking to his imaginary friend, Deus Ex Machina. However it turns out that Deus Ex Machina is real, and is the God of Time and Space. Deus gives Yuki's diary the ability to see the future. Twelve people are given a Future Diary and are pitted against each other in a "last man standing" survival game in which the winner gets to replace Deus ex Machina as God.

Critical Review:
Mirai Nikki is an incredible anime for many reasons.
In terms of plot, Mirai Nikki is unique and exciting. This is a psychological thriller that keeps your heart beating from start to finish. With the intense plot of of the survival match, the deep interactions between the characters, the mystery, and the shocking twists, and the complex intricacies of cause-and-effect and of time and space, I assure you will not be able to stop watching until it's over.

The characters of this anime are what make it great. One of the most intense, uniquely written, and colorful characters I've ever seen is the main female character: Yuno Gasai. She helps create the intense, edge-of-your-seat plot with her insane personality and unpredictable actions which will keep you guessing the outcome until the end. Yuno will grab your attention and have your heart pumping with intense excitement until the end, not only with her crazy character, but with the mystery and plot twists that surround her.

Apart from Yuno, there are many other unique and well written characters. Each Diary user has his or her own personality and their Future Diaries reflect their characters. There are no black and white characters in this anime; almost every character character switches between the role of antagonist and hero which helps add to the unpredictability of the plot. There is no clear cut villain, nor is there a clear hero, including the main character.

This anime as many shocking moments and plot twists that will keep you on your toes. Furthermore, it deals with the complex matters of time and space. As each diary user changes each other's futures, cause-and-effect create countless possible twists and turns. With changes in time and space and multiple time lines, this anime will really get you to think which adds a lot of depth to the story.

The animation quality is incredible. The soundtrack adds to the edge-of-your-seat nail-biting excitement of the story.
This anime extremely good, and I recommend it to anyone who likes intense and thrilling plots.
