Mirai is the best girl out of the next generation

Exactly. Mirai has the best standing outside of the girl/boy category because they can write out the problems she has about her father, without making the situation unrealistic, or making the character look like a brat. She grew up without a father because he died, and it's great to see resemblances of Asuma in his daughter, plus the arc where Asuma was teaching Shikamaru about the Kings of Konoha (which he thought was the Hokage, but turned out to be the 'children' aka the future) -- Was one of my favorite arcs of the series. I was really hyped for his kid until later in the story when I realized the child was forgotten under all the crappy wank of supposedly dead Uchiha characters.

I hope the new author can give Mirai an actual role in the new series. Kishimoto neglected her, but I guess it's because of this Novel that was in the works? Anyway I completely agree. I'm tired of all these rehash abilities.

Rasengans/shadow clone combo, Fire/Lightning, Medical Ninjutsu/Super strength, and the list goes on. Come on give us something different here for God's sake :lol

At the same time it is most natural for people to only be able to pass on what they know, but I want a character as a ninja to make something their own even if it is passed down and this is what I am waiting for to see if something switches up. But I mean we just have to wait until they are done drawing the entire dang boruto movie out to see how the development goes.

Mirai can end up taking on missions with some of the younger ones since they are in the spotlight. If they want it to happen they will definitely figure something out.

I don't even expect complete originality, but like you said, I want them to at least (bare minimum) use the techniques passed down to them and make them original/unique for themselves that way.

It wouldn't hurt to throw some new ideas in there too. Like for instance, I'm all aboard with the MC using a weapon instead of just pure Taijutsu (despite Naruto not having a real Taijutsu style bar Frog Kata). I hope they implement more concepts like these.

The worst part of it... I think she might be the only female in this Manga who actually uses weapons (not talking about ninja weapons like kunai ofc), but you know what I mean.

I hope so. No offense but we've had enough of females being healers. Not that they aren't vital, but Sakura can heal the rest of the world for the years to come. Leave Sarada, Himawari, Chou Chou, etc., out of it!

In saradas case medical ninjutsu is heavily implied , she should be on the level of time skip Sakura and its assumed that she know everything Sakura knew, so I doubt they would develope her medic prowess much, as opposed to just giving it to her, because She has Sakuras talent.

And beside Sakura never really showed her offensive side of medical ninjutsu, but sarada doesn't seem to like medics so , she probably would replace his mother until "if" she dies, but Sakura would never allow Sarada not to know some medical ninjutsu

But sarada has 3 ways she can go,
Copy of Sakura
Copy of a Uchiha ( which have been majorly overdone)
Or an unrestricted Sakura ( which would probably be able to happen without making the uchiha look bad)

I think I agree with op, she seems interesting enough, she also seems to be in something of a generation gap.(konohamarus gen is a lot older and saradas/borutos gen is younger, she seems right in the middle. And we can kinda see where sarada is going with her character. But we really don't know much about mirai. A woman with quick taijutsu and ash/fire style with a side of genjutsu? I can dig it
