The gap between them isn't THAT far. Tsunade is still worlds above her in general medical ninjutsu, but Sakura's strength and battle prowess are catching up since she can now use the Byakugou. Since Sakura can also summon Katsuyu, there really aren't that many differences between them except that I highly doubt Sakura would survive being cut in half all the while still using her jutsu. She will catch up fairly soon. Tsunade doesn't have that much on her other than superior medical ninjustu.

Of course the gap is that far, Tsunade is leagues above Sakura.

Sakura doesn't have natural immense raw strength like Tsunade, using chakra enhanced punches. Tsunade on the other hand has all of these over Sakura:

1) Creation Rebirth/Strength of a Hundred Technique
2) Immense raw strength
3) Ranshinshou
4) Senju/Uzumaki Lineage
5) Medical Ninjutsu on a whole other level
6) Boobs.

Hmmm.....can Sakura instantly regenerate without weaving signs? Can she tank being severed in half like a boss like Tsunade did? I think not. She ain't quite ready for prime time yet. She will at an earlier age than Tsunade became ready, but she's not there yet.

I'm guessing that's because Tsunade has Uzumaki blood? Sakura has no bloodline so she will be like Lee is with Guy. Near to surpassing as she ages but never truly an exact copy.
