Mind Transfer and damage (question/speculation)

So we know that the user of Shintenshin receives the same damage as the person they are possessing. But what happens if that person loses a limb? Does the user's limb also fall off or does it become unusable (like permanent nerve damage)?

My guess would be permanent nerve damage. Though medical ninjutsu on the level of Tsunade, Sakura and Kabuto could probably repair the damage with surgery. Lee's limbs were supposed to be done for at one point as well but Tsunade fixed him.

Thats weird. How transferring spirit can damage your physical body? But I guess its maybe the hit that spiritual body receive will damaging the soft internal organ. And if the person Ino possess lost a limb, I guess Ino's tissue/muscle will get damage badly but her limb still intact.

I remembered that. But here in NV its maybe different. But if Ino's mind jutsu effect is similar to Hidan's blood ritual effect, I think her limb will get hurt badly only but if Ino's jutsu follow the matrix, she will lost her limb

Well, The Matrix was one of Kishi's favorite movies, IIRC

And yes, I know it wasn't stated in canon, hence the "speculation" in the title. I just wanted to know what people believed to be the most likely option.
