It would be terrible writing because it would mean Minato chose not to go all out against the man that attacked his helpless wife and newborn son, not to go all out to take down the monstrosity rampaging through his beloved home, not to go all out against the greatest threat the world has, which means not using the one power that he is susceptible to, but chose to go all out to protect a dying man and a symbiote, who were the ones responsible for the aforementioned calamities.

You're speculating that he didn't want to go all out. What if he couldn't? What if it had a serious drawback? what if he didn't think of it while his new born son and his wife are being attacked by "madara uchiha"?

There are many factors to think about, I have no doubt that Minato did all he could in that short span of time he fought obito and sealed the kyuubi.

At that time he had his original body, but it was physically too weak to handle SM, that may be another reason for him switching bodies. The same can be said for Minato, it's kind of like the CM some can handle it, while others can't.

I haven't even bought the prior 3, but I feel Kishi could redeem some of the inconsistencies that have taken place in the manga in terms of abilities. Considering he wants to finish Naruto, that probably leaves him little time for explanations.

His wife and newborn son being attacked didn't stop him from thinking critically enough to conclude it's Madara. Why would it stop him from thinking "Hmm, this guy a serious threat with potentially higher power than me. Better go all out!"

What drawbacks? He went into SM almost instantly, and he the markings of a perfect sage, the chances of a drawback that would stop him from using it are miniscule to zero.

Those questions are not for the readers to think of and explore. Those questions are for the author to address for the reader, which is why this was an asspull until explained.

Kishi can't expect his readers to all take his story as seriously as we do on this forum.

Naruto is also capable of performing rasengan in bijuu mode and yet kishi showed mianto using rasengan, teamwork has been a consistent theme throughout the war

From after the Itachi vs Sasuke fight to be exact so yes that is alot of info and background story. It'll be very interesting, worth getting for a Naruto fan.

The fact that Naruto needs to sit still for a few moments to gather Nature Energy, but Minato did it in the matter of a second or two in what appears to be movement supports that he's higher in proficiency.

That scan talks about transferring chakra to someone else, and changing it to match them simultaneously. Sage Mode is an entirely different concept.
