Given the latest developments, I think it's safe to say that Naruto will be the one to face off with Obito at the end then. He still has some mysterious power given to him from the tailed beasts which Obito was uneasy about.
I wonder if the toad sage's prediction about Naruto fighting a young man whose power is in his eyes is about though- Obito or Sasuke. Obito is still young, around 30 or so. although I suppose he'll end up fighting Sasuke over the hokage post later, after Obito is dealt with.
