Are minato's parents still alive? because i figured the grandparents would want to take care of their grandchild. and if the 3rd didnt let them knw naruto was born i am sure they would have seen him around the village at one point and see how much he resembles minato. and thats my question why didnt minato's parents raise naruto?

The fact no-one has done as you suggested may be because
1. They passed away
2. Didn't approve of Kushina or lost contact
3. Fearful of Naruto, who has the beast in him that killed their son and almmost killed everyone

Kishi don't think like that...and thank God!! I mean, then there's Kushnina's parents as well, J-man's clan has always been unknown, the Senju Clan has vanished etc. Lot's of loose ends. This is a manga after all, give the guy a break,lol.

I just hope that it is Tsunade & Jiariya, and the reason the 3rd keep it quite is because Tsunade was to heart broken over their deaths and brought backs the pains she flet with Dans & Nawaki death, that when she broke down and left the vile, the 3rd could have sent Shizune to keep an eye on her.

I don't know who are his grandparents and I don't think he'll introduce if they are unknown characters. Either they are relatively know characters or they are dead since long.
Also, it's usually the Godfather that raises a child after the child's parents are dead and that person is Jiraiya.

J-man is Naruto's godfather, so there's no way he can be Minato's dad. I think they both passed away...
