MINATO's long named Jutsu has been used by him in the past, even in the manga.
I'm bored to show the images but you sure can remember those time when...

During third world war, Minato ordered Leaf ninjas to throw all his special kunais in the enemies area at once. One of the ninja doubted him for being the yellow flash and the other relaxed him by saying to watch him lively.

Then he used this jutsu while attacking A and Killer Bee and let A chase him.

its not the same jutsu. i remember what scene you are talking about. it was when it obito, rin and kahkashi as kids. there wasnt a long jutsu name for it he just use his flying thunder god tech on those ninjas.

The things you mentioned are just ways of making FTG work to his full advantage. Wide area spread of Kunais to teleport to. The first thing you mentioned was just so he could switch between them killing foes that the kunais missed.

This is a new jutsu to seee, Kishi is showing off lots of flashy stuff.
