The moment he hold Kakashi back from killing Obito was the turning point for the NarutoVerse. Kakashi would have probably aimed for his throat instead of the Rinnegan. So, we can say that Minato saved once again the Shinobi Alliance and the world. Underrated Minato fact, some also conisdered it as something wrong.

No if obito was dead, madara would have stayed dead and been unable to escape the seal he was about to be placed in
