I don't obito did much to make people hate him(beside killing konan ). He kinda of had no choose but to go with Madara and live in a world that had Rin in.
I do think minato will save him because he IS his former student, like Sarutobi when he faced his own student Orchimaru. He could of killed him but instead he kinda of saved him and saw him as the boy he wished could of been.
