This has been a long time coming. Will Itachi put Minato in his place or will Minato rise up to slay his master?

Honestly Itachi has plenty of chances to end the battle before it even begun, with genjutsu. What can FTG do to Itachi when Minato is in a genjutsu. Even outside of a genjutsu, FTG is nothing to Itachi can't handle.

it's a fact that Minato has no chance of beating Itachi unless it's through a blitz or surprise because Rasengan alone isn't enough to bust Susanoo. His only methods of doing that are to hope Itachi, who's known for his sharp senses, doesn't notice kunai lain on the ground or just outclass Itachi that much in speed. The second I could see being true, but Itachi would probably begin with Susanoo if he expects someone is capable of blitzing him, and the first actually works to Itachi's advantage since he'd be given Minato's options for teleporting and be able to plan in advance.

Remove plot restriction and genjutsu no-diffs Minato, keep it on and Minato just outlasts Susanoo without any real difficulty thanks to his speed allowing him to evade everything else Itachi has.

Solo stare and sword of solo takes care of Minato neg difficulty. Shiki fuinn isn't doing f'all to Itachi.

Minato is too fast for anything Itachi has. He can keep teleporting and throwing stuff at him until Itachi wears himself out.

People forget how OP Minato's teleportation is. Itachi's footspeed can't h keep up with it.

Realistic Minato can’t instantly attack Itachi without marking him, and if Minato spreads the terrain with knives, during that process of scattering the knives Itachi can set up susanoo and have his Tsukyomi ready.
The moment eye contact is made, it’s all over.

Minato has no feats of breaking out of a genjutsu or fighting without making eye contact with his opponent. I know he was looking at masked man’s face (more like kid) directly when they were fight despite knowing well enough that the mysterious guy had a sharingan so it’s safe to assume that he’s ignorant about the power of the ocular sharingan.

Itachi gets insta blitz before he can even have his sharingan activated. Ms sasuke with better vision and stamina with better flame control couldn’t even keep up with ay at top speed and you think minato who can’t even be touch by ay is going to lose... This is why Itachi vs threads can’t be taken seriously.

Itachi uses subtle genjutsu on Minato and Minato has no way of making it out. If he didn't go SM against potential Madara Uchiha, he won't go SM against Itachi. On the other hand, Itachi's go to move is the subtle genjutsu.
While Minato fights inside the genjutsu, Itachi finishes it with TB.

Minato wins this battle.

Itachi does have the Totsuka Blade and Yata Mirror as well as Infinite Tsukuyomi, ,Izanami, etc, but Minato singlehandedly stopped Kurama's Bijuu Bomb and stalemated him with a Summoning Jutsu, which he could use to combat the Susanoo and use 1 of them to help negate Itachi's genjutsu as well.

Minato also can do flying rajin and has mastered Kushina's Uzumaki sealings as well.

Itachi wins easy. Minato does have a lot of speed, but Itachi has Susanoo and genjutsu to take care of Minato. So Itachi wins.
