Exact opposite, Minato cannot hit Gaara, and Gaara would neutralize FTG and eventually catch and crush Minato.

Just a thought, but if Gaara did a big attack, could Minato transport his sand away like he did with the 9tails TBB? Because Gaara would have no chance without sand.

Also Gaara has sand armor on, so if he just so happens to get marked he can just let that part break away and put more sand in it's place.

Depending in the situation he might have be using his gourd sand and making sand out of the battlefield would take a little time in which Minato could attack in. I'm just trying to think of things other people might not think but I honestly don't know who wins this.
