Ive seen alot of people underrating minato on alot of threads say naruto, sasuke, the 1st, the 2nd, madara, or tobi would destroy him. Let me just make a few things clear...
1. Yes naruto has surpassed minato in turns of strength. But he could never beat minato in a fight, reason why? Minato can seal naruto's 9 tails chakra and is just as fast if not faster then naruto when he's using it thanks to FTG. Lets look at naruto's fighting style. Naruto's fighting style is mainly taijutsu, its 60% taijutsu 30% brains(or less sometimes) and 10% reasegan. He starts every fight with taijutsu or an attempt with taijutsu and some times a random reasegan. He hasnt use clones like he normally does in his older fights my guess is cause he's stronger now. And he also begins all his recent fights in either sage mode or KM mode.
This is a baaaad match up for naruto, Minato's fighting style from what we've seen anyway begins the same, taijutsu. The problem for naruto is at the end of his exchange he uses a tag and breaks away(he did it to young kakashi, when he saved young kakashi, and to tobi), then ending the fight with FTG. And he can also seal or at least surpress 9 tails chakra with one hand. And once minato tags him its over. Minato can escape any bad situation in the blink of an eye, and he can beat the TBB. Naruto isnt to fast for him and he cant out smart him. Minato with his sealing abilties and speed and brains will destroy naruto. Naruto's only real advantage is stamina and strength.
2. Sasuke cant touch minato with amaterasu, or the arrows. His lightning sword will make serious problems in close range(as it would for anyone in naruto that cant use lightning release on a weapon) but again minato can FTG out of any bad situation at anytime. We've seen him do it 3 against tobi when tobi thought the fight was his. Minato's 1 on 1 fighting style seems to be to use taijutsu and other close range tactics and FTG when and if his enemy counters and understand their fightnign stlye so he'll be ready to use FTG at all times. Suasnoo is also a difficult problem but just as much as minato cant hit suaske in suasnoo sasuke still cant touch minato because he's to fast. Sasuke may have EMS now but he cant use sasunoo and amaterasu forever. Minato can find a way around suasnoo he is in top 5 smartest battlewise ninja's(Itachi,3rd hokage,Minato,Kakashi,Shikamaru's dad in no specific order).
3. The 1st is and extreeeeemeely difficult battle for someone of minato's talent. On the up side for minato jutsu like the forest trees grabing him like they did to the 3rd wont work because of FTG. But jutsu like the flower world would be a game changer against minato, unless he has a seal to seal chakra natures(i didnt call it the other thing cause i cant spell it) like woodstlye which i wouldnt count on. The 1st will win with that jutsu but thats i believe would be his only way and thats if minato doesnt end the fight before he can do it. The same barrier used on the TBB would most likely work on a jutsu like the one the naruto clones went against that madara used, and i think in taijutsu minato would be to fast for the 1st. Speed can always win against power because power mean nothing if you miss everytime. But like i said the 1st would win if he uses Flower world.
4. Nagato for minato would the same as the 1st in a way. I dont believe he has an ansewer to planetary devastation unless he can teleport the core to a different location and then return which i guess isnt impossible, mush easier then dealing with flower world anyway. But in taijutsu Nagato has the upper hand with his extra arms, but again minato can easily escape. Things like universal pull wont be minato because of FTG as well. Almighty push would be difficult but depending on how big nagato does it he may escape, if nagato does one the size or half the size that destroyed the leaf minato may be ****ed.Asura path's missles are useless against minato cause theyll never connected. Each summon can be teleported away like the 9 tails was to get them out of the way(Not and easy thing to do but it can be done with minato im sure) and Human path FTG may not save minato because i believe its once the hand comes off the soul goes with it. Dam so no that i think about this fight would actually be waay more difficult then Minato's fight with the 1st...Oh well.
5. Madara the most difficult fight. With flower word jutsu like The 1st he would win. With jutsu like suasnoo and his sword slash or the metor drop i thing the barrier minato used on TBB would save him. Taijutsu i think minato would actually be alright against madara, and he can escape fire stlye jutsu. But i dont feel like goin anymore cause i keep getting side tracked. Minato's best way to beat Edo Madara is a seal which might make things way easier for someone of his talent.
Now im not say he'll be the 1st, nagato, or madara for sure espeacially madara and nagato. Id say he has A 40% chance of beating the 1st, 35% chance of beating nagato, and a 20% chance of beating Edo Madara. But he will beat naruto and sasuke. And he can still beat tobi.
Ill talk on that for a bit. Tobi's main strength is his warp jutsu, whichh he's not fast enough to get minato with. And close range wise he cant even touch guy or kakashi(not including the warp jutsu cause he hasnt tried it on them yet). The only one being saved 24/7 is naruto. Tobi and Minato's fight now ouldnt be so different. He still cant touch minato even with rinnegan. The that weird summon can be teleported away just like 9 tails, which minato would have no choice but to do if he wants to win. So tobi for sure beating minato is BS.
Id give minato a 50 to 60% chance of beating tobi 1 on 1.
My apologies, i kept getting distracted and i feel like ive just kinda been rambling but ive typed to much to go back and redo it or not post this. But Minato is still top 5 material and Naruto and sasuke cant beat him. If youd like me to go into focused detail on anything please let me know.
