When there was no hope at all. every body was preparing their coffins, when the ultimate armagadon , doomday to humanity was approaching with Jubbi tyring to TBB ( nuking the whole world) lord minato appeared like a flash of light and saved all humanity even before people could notice what happnend.
It was like the act of Jesus , with his magical power bestowed hope and life to this earth, minato saved all human beings and this naruto managa. without Minato in naruto manga 631 , the naruto manga would had ended in chapter 632.

Imo, Itachi killed his own family and his friends? Did Minato killed his family and escape? No, he saved the human beings and not Itachi.
BESIDES, he made Naruto what he really are now, haha hard fail. Without Minato the world could end from the start. Minato knew Tobi would continue, so he had a idea to let his son take over with kyuubis chakra.....

1. If they are all noobs why was the whole council freaking out lol. The only noob clan is Namikaze since they are all fodders.
