I came across those two phrases in the title and suddenly remembered. Isn't he supposed to suck at controlling sage chakra? He himself even exclaimed so. If this is true then, and he never supposedly used it, why would he be at a state of perfect comprehension, not having any visible transformations such as Jiraya had(he had the appearance of a frog)?

He can't maintain it for a long time. Using sage mode for a battle probably won't never happen, however he can use it in short bursts for an attack.

Shit I dunno it's the exact same thing with itachi n susanno. When he was alive he only used it once. But as an Edo he was doing partial transformations n controlling it like he had as much experience as sasuke

- The pigmentation around minatos eyes show the mark of a "true sage"
- Meaning he can perfectly balance the nature energy and his own chakra together (hence no toad like features)
- However, learning and perfectly balancing sage chakra isn't enough, you still need to practice at it
- Naruto increased his sage time by using it more and more. And he practiced entering it faster (these being the two drawbacks of sage mode)
- Fukasaku already explained these drawbacks. Naruto had the same problem before, Jiraya always had this problem
- Hence why Fukasaku after teaching you senjutsu, next teaches you the amphibian technique ie fusing with the toads in order to remove these drawbacks.
- So it doesn't matter what level or how sucky minatos sage mode may be. With the amphibian technique, it completely removed those drawbacks and gives him sage mode on potentially an even greater level than Narutos.
- That's why despite jiraya having an even sucker sage mode, with the toads he was badass
- Kabuto also overcame these drawbacks by using Jugos cells of constantly drawing in natural energy.

Just an observation I've made, here on nb, the butt hurt level of minatos sm seems to russle people left and right. That they feel the need to degrade it every chance possible. Yet no one says a word of jiraya, who is far inferior. Then you have the toad sages that make all this pointless anyway.

People aren't butthurt pal they're annoyed at Minato fanboys denying manga facts by giving Minato SM in fights when he himself admitted he sucks at it, and barely managed to gather enough senjutsu for one Rasengan.

The toad sages even said long time no see, meaning it must've been years since he last used it, and he also was not good at it. Again no one says anything. Minato confirmed he'd used it, just not much, if he said he never used it ever ever, then you have a case, but since he's in the same boat as jiraya. I see no reason to get annoyed. I've never said Minato uses sage mode like Naruto. I've only defended his sage mode when people say it's worse than Jirayas or he can't use it at all. Or he can't make good use of it in battle. Fastest ninja (was anyway), that uses shadow clones, and various toad distractions, yet people think he can't buy time in a fight. Something slow ass jiraya managed against pain of all people and his annoying summons.

Never said jiraya fans do. But most ignore the fact Minato can use sm like jiraya can, ie with the toads. So why all the fodder talk when Minato can summon toads just like jiraya taught him, and use senjutsu better than jiraya himself is beyond me. Even in threads where the toads are already on minatos shoulders, you still get the same snide remarks as if people just hate Minato that much.

I just think some of you try to undermine the ability too much. And yes others overrate it too much, but at the end of the day, kishi is the one that revealed it. It's an ability he used and can be exploited via toads. And sometimes, one quick attack is all that's needed, doesn't have to last long when you're as fast as you are.

"Sucks" is a strong word as well lol. He said not his forte. My second language is not my forte at all, however I understand almost every word, I just can't speak it to the same degree as I can understand. But I don't suck at it.
