Putting Minatos actions aside, I see whole situation quite silly. As someone pointed out in another thread, Minato said that he has no chakra for FTG, yet we still see him with Kyuubis chakra shroud. How is that even possible?

just because you don't like it don't call it bad writing
it's your opinion you have no right declaring it bad writing

well i wouldn't say it is as bad as you're making it out to be, kishi just focused more on tobirama then hiruzen so in turn it makes minato look bad

Omoi isn't fodder :yay: But i get what you mean. Maybe it's just like Parrish said. Kishi isn't that good with these kind of stuffs lol

Dunno what you mean by this, but it's beside the point. Whether it's him or his kunai who had no chakra left isn't the point. The point is despite being on his feet, he didn't even try to go and save his son when another(Tobirama) actually tried all he could on the same panel

You know what type of Jutsu/skills Minato withholds... Mostly Space time and his brain. Logically, you know more so than anyone else that he didn't have anything in his arsenal that would have been effective, of anything it probably would've made it worse. I say this because it would've been two people in trouble instead of one. Tobirama used Suiton because it was the most effective Jutsu that he had in his arsenal at the time.

Minato's concern for his son was expressed. He made the right choice IMO, while still being distraught as a Father. Like I said before, any action of his might have gotten in the way.

Moving on to Sarutobi, he had a weapon... also he wasn't involved in the past few chapters. Chances are he was observing and trying to figure out the best method to accommodate his skills in the situation, thus which caused him to save Naruto. He had the knowledge and the right weapon (Enma) to complete the task.

And I thought edo's had unlimited chakra :erm:

Practically everyone on the base know how i like Minato and all, but things need to be say. This panel was a particular bad writing on Minato here to say the least

You have a son in danger and you know he is in danger, but you don't even try to go and save him? Especially when we see on the same pic Tobirama going on his on before you after using suiton ninjutsu, asking you why you don't use Hiraishin and go on his own, and you, the father is just staying there still without taking actions? Ok let's leave the ninjutsu part since without an arm and without chakra, you can't use ninjutsu, but you are still on your feet. So how can't you try the best you can to go and save your son in this particular situation?

Dunno if Kishi really knows how bad not only as a character but as a father, he made Minato look here, but this was clearly a bad writing on his part. Or maybe it's Kushina the one who was right in the end. He just have a flacky personality O_O
...You're a Minato fan, bro? I thought you were one of those Itachi fanbois...

No arguments here. Minato had no excuse to not go after his own son. Even if he was out of chakra and could have been helpless against the God Tree. All logic should have exited the building. Minato should have been impulsive at that moment.... Bad bad writing on Kishi and character development.

Also, how is he out of chakra if he is an edo?

Perhaps or perhaps not ..... Most likely he already tried saving Naruto before Tobirama asked him since he could explain very well why he couldnt actually help.

Also, how is he out of chakra if he is an edo?

His Chakra bond with Naruto that allowed him to FTG himself in location that are in close proximity to Naruto was absorbed, not all his chakra.

people need to realize that minato cracks under pressure and becomes dumb like naruto. This has been clear for awhile now

Hm this post makes me confuse. I didn't think of it this way. You may be right concerning it since Minato actually explained why he couldn't, which could mean he tried before noticing his chakra(in Naruto?) got absorbed. And concerning the bolded part, does it mean it was a translation error? Because the way i read it, it actually seemed like Minato was talking about his own chakra, but if what you say is right, it actually makes more sense this way(reason why Tobirama asked Minato personally instead of teleporting on his own since Minato is the one who connected with his son's chakra before, and Minato is still in KCM)

yeah i noticed that too.
minato is kind of a ninja who is willing to sacrifice his own life just to protect his loved ones but here he was just giving excuses.

maybe kishi just wanted to give hiruzen some panel time

So you managed to stumble upon bad writing that goes hand in hand with Minato just now? May I suggest looking into his Jinchuriki status, his KCM, and then the FTG seal business. Ever since this guy stepped into the fray this manga has tumbled dangerously low from its previous woefully poor spot. Minato: The BANE of Narutoverse.
