I know what you was trying to say, but his wounds were sever or critical to the point no healing can help. Also, Healing Jutsu is just first Aid. It is not Tsunade Release Seal were she can heal lost organs and whatnot.

He performed the Shiki Fuin because he didn't have the strength left to seal the full power of Kurama. So, he used the shiki fuin to half Kurama's power and then sealed him.
