im not saying minato is top 5 material but he has a big advantage over nagato (like guy has advantages over certain people)
let me list their moves/abilities
Nagato: rinnegan, chibaku tensai
Minato: FTG, space time barrier, food cart destroyer, contract seal & reaper death seal
how minato counters EVERYTHING
first let me say this: minato only has to touch nagato ONCE in order for him to put contract seal and ftg marking on him like this
preta path - this path absorbs chakra, it can absorb ninjutsu but this is almost useless against minato because minato doesnt really use chakra like that so preta path cant absorb anything except rasengan
animal path - this path does all the summoning jutsus but contract seal will make this path 100% useless, if nagato loses the ability to use this path he wont be able to use any summonings
contract seal might also stop nagato from summoning his 6 paths too...
human path - this path can remove the soul of someone BUT only if it can grab/catch them
this is VERY difficult to do against minato, since minato can use ftg to stay out of reach
naraka path - this path will have the same problem as human path...minato has to be grabbed/caught before this path is considered useful
asura path - this path give nagato the ability to use extra arms like this
this path can also do this
^^^ minato will counter this the same way he countered tbb
space time barrier
deva path - this path is the only path that will be the true challenge for minato, it can use shinra tensai and chibaku tensai
shinra tensai - this is the main jutsu minato has have to focus on, but minato SHOULD be able to use ftg before he is pushed back too far AND after nagato uses this, he has to wait 5 seconds before he uses it again....now, we all know 5 seconds in more than enough time for minato to get to nagato, BECAUSE NARUTO DID IT IN BASE FORM
im pretty sure minato can tank it (not alot of times tho) because kakashi tanked it
^^but unlike kakashi, minato can use FTG to teleport away before a serious amount of damage is done
THIS WONT HAPPEN (

nagato cant get full shinra tensai ready if minato is speed blitzing him
bansho ten'in - this WONT happen (
chibaku tensai - space time barrier will counter this perfectly
nagato need to be close to chibaku tensai in order to use it
^^^ with that being said minato can use space time barrier to send chibaku tensai far away from nagato so this jutsu is useless against minato
ALSO THIS,
after nagato uses chibaku tensai, he'll hurt himself and give minato a huge opportunity to take advantage
AS FOR GEDO MAZOU (IF EVEN ALLOWED) - CONTRACT SEAL WILL DO THE TRICK AND GEDO MAZO MIGHT GO ON A RAMPAGE AND TURN AGAINST NAGATO
minato still has food cart destroy, for a back up jutsu
on top of all of this, minato is more intelligent than nagato
