Minato doesn't know sage mode. Did you ever hear the toads talking about him in regards to it? They said that Naruto reminded them of Jiraiya. Minato had a summoning contract with them, but I'm pretty sure no sage mode.

Because the toads said that only 2 people have ever learned sage mode. Jiraiya and one other person before him. And now Naruto making him the 3rd. That's all there is.

It is not possible, if i remember correctly Fukasaku said so himself, that Naruto and Jiraiya were the only Toad Sages, though minato was capable of summoning the toads.

I don't think he can do it, but even without it he is powerful.
