This theory has absolutely no evidence and is just a guess but Minato's and Tobiramas techs were incredibly similar. They both knew s/t ninjutsu apparently.

They were both able to sense enemy shinobi by putting one finger on the ground.

Tobirama was also a waterstyle user . Minato's element isn't revealed but it is widely theorized he had suiton.



Or perhaps he read the damn scroll of seals and seen it there. I mean it had tons of forbidden techs. Edo tensai could have been one too.

i still dont believe it has been clearly said so that is an assumption with no evidence. and to OP, just because they both have s/t ninjutsu doesnt mean they share the ET tech. Minato teleports into another dimention thus allowing him to instantaniously move from marker to marker but as far as we know he has no capabilities of truly staying in the dimension and doing as he wishes in there, whereas tobi does have that ability. Am i saying FTG is amateur stuff? not at all, but on a complexity scale of interdimensional s/t jutsus, minatos FTG is like a baby moving its hand and comparing it to mike tyson swing a left hook at you (tobi's more masterful use of s/t).

lol using s/t like the second doesn't mean that they are the same in other things. plus i don't think that minato was the kind of person who would go through dark forbidden jutsu like edo tensei ..... am sure that the second had a good reason when he created it (maybe the crazy time of war forced him to use extreme measures) and only used it when he REALLY had too, as for minato again there is no way he knew or had anything to do with edo tensei (he is not that kind of guy). and if he was a water user, at least we would have seen anything about it from everything that has to do with this series (as far as i remember he was a wind user).
