How did Minato know Taijutsu would actually hurt him?

Because Madara can negate Ninjutsu, not Taijutsu or senjutsu. Of course physical attacks will work.

Yep, hopefully Minato will do something worthwhile. I dont expect crazy stuff to happen every chapter, but Minato hasnt done much, and I have been waiting for him to do something, and everytime it looks like he is, nope.

im sure gai would have went for taijutsu anyway. If they didnt know that ninjutsu was ineffective, and senjutsu was, they would have found out assuming kakashi went for a ninjutsu attack.

Yeah I'm sure they would have all found out eventually, but Minato saved them time, effort and chakra from being wasted.

They can then re-think their battle strategy and not get killed because of lack of intel.
