The last part seems equivocal also...it seems he was just genuinely asking if he could. Besides...he says direct contact to him or his chakra. Well he just said on the last scan i posted that he doesn't need contact if the target is related to his chakra somehow. Now if you want to contradict with the manga, it's your problem

The difference is that Edo Minato was trying to save his son and also has KCM, and that Edo Hashirama, Edo Tobirama and Edo Hiruzen were testing out Obito's abilities.

minato can warp stuff by direct touching, which was known, and by direct touching something with his chakra, established with this chapter. minatos ftg kunais have his chakra on them. this means that he can warp something by simply touching it with his kunai.
