Ftg etc came off of previous jutsu invented by other ninjas... he improved on that..as a ninja should ....he commented on tobirama's s/t as he did research in it... his training in fuinjutsu etc all helped in forming what kind of ninja he became..

@people I want to say that minato examined and study other jutsus and things. he took a concept and then applied his mind and made something new and original jutsus. of course base elements or knowledge would be same. but he is greatest shinobi ever lived who was intellectual, hokage, loved his wife, child,master, village and died for them. I don't know what do you mean by original but I would place him above all non kkg people. that's it.

I wouldnt say he's the most original exactly, as he's expanded and improved from his people he emulated- he took a lot of influence from tobirama (sensing, s/t jutsu), uzumaki (his seals and barriers), and the 8-tails (tbb). That he created so many incredible techniques- ftg, rasengan, and rds, is incredible in itself, but he had something to go on.

the most original shinobi is either Tobirama or Orochimaru. Tobirama was the creator of edo tensei and probably of space-time jutsu, plus that sensing technique and his water prowess are probably innovations of his as well. Orochimaru created his immortality jutsu, snake-form, curse seals of heaven and earth, hashirama implants and doubtless many more jutsu in his years of experimenting.

He is a genius for me, i mean maybe if he saw a new jutsu, and he likes it, he will think of a way to have that kind of jutsu, example if he saw Son Goku's kamehameha he will try to produce something similar but in his own way... he saw Sasuke's Kirin and he likes it then he made a similar jutsu in his own way (Sasuke's fanboys will get mad just kidding) similar to TBB he likes it and finds a way to have that kind of jutsu awesome

Jiraiya is one of the most original Shinobi that i ever seen/know his Spiky hair jutsu, he has sealing jutsu too! remember he seals fire of Amaterasu, he created a seal to tame Naruto when he goes berserk when Yamato is not yet introduced etc etc etc...
