Smh, thought what was clear cannot be made clearer.
Authorial intent "authorial intent refers to an author's intent as it is encoded in his or her work"

The fracas was so clear it baffles me when people say this.
The emphasis was on speed, ai's vs minato's, so much that at the start both acknowledged each others speed. From there the premise of the duel was set

Next, acknowledge the fact that, there was in total5 konoha shinobi's (if we include the dog) against 3 kumo shinobi's.
However every ninja was pushed to the background and as we saw on the bottom page, minato stood infront of his team and a'i did the same.

It cannot get clearer even from the first get go what kishi was establishing. From their discussion of speed to the seclusion of both their teams, enough for the two fighters to face off.

Next scan, minato spams kunai's. Ai goes raiton no yoari

Further establishing the premise of the duel without wasting any time.

Note that at the very beginning, bee had his swords out
But once a'i took charge he put them back
.

He then semi transformed and interfered in the duel between his brother and minato.
But that is exactly what it was. An interference and shouldn't undermine what the blatant message of that chapter was, which is that the duel of speed between the 2 fastest ninjas at the time was won by minato.

Next go back to that chapter and tell me, apart from minato and A, who else was moving?.
The answer is nobody, only these 2 were moving from point A to point B. Hardly anybody else moved from their original stance apart from these 2 characters further making it clear.

Now bee in that chapter said this

He hasn't started. The only thing he did was save his brother and that was it.
It might have actually kicked off had there not been news to the leaf to retreat, but bee put it clearly even if you cannot understand authorial intent that he hadn't started therefore he wasn't in this fight.

Next against sasuke, bee said only A's has dodged his speed.
That means if he had fought minato, he managed to land a hit on minato. And that is false. v1 Bee' thought fast isnt as fast as his brother, so much so that i expect minato to be able to evade it with shunshin, let alone hiraishin. [ ]

Secondly minato hasn't been portrayed as a tank at that attack by bee, would have if it had landed would have done possibly put minato's lights out.

Finally in the viz translations Bee acknowledged an inexperienced ms sasuke to be the strongest person he has fought.
He either doesn't acknowledge his interference in his brother duel as his fight or he has put an inexperienced sasuke above minato. Something i do not agree with.

Ai, even after his discussion with naruto he further talks about how minato was the fastest shinobi, but now that he is gone, he is. And even remembers some of his duels in the past. Later even said "We butted heads on more than one occasions" implying him and minato [ ]

It's a long run but Kishi has never showed that Minato has a feats to counter genjutsu for a reason- simply because he is going to lose.
Minato can prolong it as much as he wants in the end who ever Itachi faced it was been caught in a genjutsu.

So I don't see why should I've to be impressed that Minato defeat A with ease in battle of who is going to be faster, when he clearly is using teleportation.

So nope.

To place someone in a genjutsu, you must locate them first. If Minato just throws out a mass of FTG knai's all over the place and warps away, Itachi wouldn't be able to track it, because it's teleportation and not movement, there is nothing to follow. Then, after he can get some really close in to itachi, Itachi would be forced to enter susanoo because an instant attack could come from anywhere and finish him, and he'd need a defense against that. If your only argument is genjutsu, you have to take in account Minato's reflexes and his untraceable movement.

i do want to remind you of way back in the chunin exams arc, anko AND the third hokage gave further hype to minato. The third said there were no ninjas in the leaf capable of stopping oro, not even himself(3rd). Granted jman wasnt in the leaf(officially). Then anko said "i wish the 4th was here", indicateing minato>oro

Things to consider when considering minatos true power

-Minato was still very young, probably NO older than his mid thirties(if not twenties), so he has much more potetial to get stronger

-He was a master of fuuin jutsu, and we have not seen much of it or much fuuinjutsu used offensively

- He has at least large chakra reserves(not known just how large though)

-He has had very little screen time(may i remind you of the first hokages small screen time, and how op he actually turned out to be?)

-In the screen time he has had he has been destroying his enemies

If you can take anything form this take the fact that much of minatos power is unknown. He is probably underestimated.

*Sigh* Smh still trying to refute manga statements? Bee said it himself "with my brother here, i can take you on", so him. He was obviously including him in the game. It baffles me in the contrary that you're trying so hard to refute this statement, when it's clear as day that Bee participated in almost half of that fight
1- A attacks, Minato got best over him, but Bee protect him and gets Minato's marking
2- A attacks again, Minato teleports behind Bee

So in the only 2actions during the fight, Bee was included, so how can't you see, he was part of the fight, even when he says it himself?

Concerning Bee's statement, he was simply acting tough, nothing else. On the same panel, you've shown, we see him even sweating while saying that, already showing he wasn't serious at all, but in the contrary fearing his opponent

It's true however concerning Bee's statement in the viz, but like i've said, i believe it was an error in the viz to begin with since not every viz are the same. It depends on how someone interprets raw Japanese. The german viz for example are most of the time different than yours

For me authorial intent is clear as day as well. It was A and Bee vs Minato, but if you want, you can try to think the contrary. I won't try to convince you when i already brought up manga statements ;)

I can't even think of anyone who would disagree with this!! It is such a well-established and obvious fact! But then again, anything is possible on NB!

Are you saying that Kishi can't both prove that minato is faster than A and still include bee in the fight? The kishi proved this, we saw this, regardless of whether or not Bee was included in the fight, just by having Minato dodge and counter A's attack. That does not prove that Bee wasn't in the fight, just because he wasn't the authors focus.

You clearly do not understand what authorial intent is then, ill make it in bullet points.
  • Both teams talk about each others speed
  • Members of each team were put to the background to focus on a and minato
  • Only Ai and minato had moved from point a to point b
  • Bee never moved from his original position from the start to the finish of that chapter
  • Never went any of his transformations apart from to intervene
  • Acknowledged sasuke to be the second person to evade v1 jin form
  • Called sasuke strongest person he has faced.

But of course its all down to interpretation

Bee played a minor part of the bigger picture

To quote: "What's the meaning of the words Minato left behind"

The authorial intent wasn't just about their speed, or their battle. It's about the message that Minato gave through the brothers. The author even bolded that part to assure that readers would understand what the author was trying to express.

That incident was from a flashback of A & Bee, & it seems that Bee understood what Minato wanted to tell A during their battle. That was also the reason why Bee wanted A to let Naruto go the battlefield. He wanted to show A that they were powerful not just because they were Jinchuriki's but because of the people they love & wanted to protect no matter what happens.

The moment that Minato teleported at the back of Bee, he could have stabbed him in the head that instantly just like what he did to Obito. It's obvious he had a second thought about killing Bee or not. He just sent message to the brothers, why would he wanted to kill them...

True, but where did it say that since they were talking about their respective speed, it would not include other members?
Members of each team were put to the background to focus on a and minato
And here is where you're wrong. Only Minato put his team in background by telling them he would handle things alone. A never said something concerning his team. It's only the fodder one who didn't want to participate when he adviced them to flee away. Bee did say "with my brother here, i can take you on", already showing he consider himself to be part of the fight.
Only Ai and minato had moved from point a to point b
A moved to the point a to b like you say with Bee as a support, who moved his tentacle to the point a to b to protect him
Bee never moved from his original position from the start to the finish of that chapter
His tentacle is part of his body. He did move it from his original position. It's as if you were saying that a ninja is not participating in a fight because he throws a kunai or uses a long range attack like Deidara for example. Does it mean that Deidara never fights?
Never went any of his transformations apart from to intervene
You talk as if the fight lasted as ever. You do realise it only lasted 1minute at most?
Acknowledged sasuke to be the second person to evade v1 jin form
He said since his brother, referring to the last person who ever dodged his attack. Minato was long dead before that
Called sasuke strongest person he has faced.
Maybe it's the case then? Who knows. Depends on what you believe is the truth. I already gave my opinion on the matter

The prophecy, i hope you know that the messages at the end of manga are not cannon, its not in the viz

True, but where did it say that since they were talking about their respective speed, it would not include other members?

Can it not get any obvious. Minato says i heard you have a fast attack. The kumo fodder talked about hiraishin, then a' responded and said, yh that is him, he put a stop to our retrieval of the fox.

From there we know.

Actually look again at the first page. In fact ill crop it for you and tell we what you see. You also forget where after initially saying this he put his swords back in its case
Its obvious both of their teams were put to the background to focus on the two.

You must be registered for see images

A moved to the point a to b like you say with Bee as a support, who moved his tentacle to the point a to b to protect him

No by moving from point a to b i mean your whole body and tentacle

His tentacle is part of his body. He did move it from his original position. It's as if you were saying that a ninja is not participating in a fight because he throws a kunai or uses a long range attack like Deidara for example. Does it mean that Deidara never fights?

What i am saying is that it was made in a way that time almost freezes and the spot light solely focused on them

You talk as if the fight lasted as ever. You do realise it only lasted 1minute at most?
He said since his brother, referring to the last person who ever dodged his attack. Minato was long dead before that

Er, he was blatantly saying that the only shinobi to do this was ai

Maybe it's the case then? Who knows. Depends on what you believe is the truth. I already gave my opinion on the matter

Obviously not and neither do you believe this, especially when you argue minato is above ems sasuke. You obviously do not believe an inexperienced ms sasuke is above minato, and neither do i. It makes absolutely no sense and that is why bee said what he did because it wasn't his fight, he merely interfered for a brief moment to save his bro.

Anyway v2 bee or fully transformed hachibi bee and v2 Ai is a team that only a few ninja's alone can take.
Minato isn't one of these ninja's
