Both started out as badasses,both were the cause of the main villain getting stronger(Vegeta/Cell and Minato/Madara) and both have been suffered embarrassing defeats.Just like how Akira Toriyama hated Vegeta it seems like Kishi has some sort of hatred for Minato with how he treated him through the current chapters and the Juubito fight.

Kishi is not abusing Minato's character, he just doesn't give two shits about him just like he doesn't give two shits about most of his characters. He only focuses on a handful at a time.
