Gai wasn't trained by Minato so how minato gonna' teach him gates nd there' is no proof by manga 2 state that so b'fore makin' a theory u shud always hve facts of manga 2 backup' best of luck new buddy

Minato didn't show anything related to the 8 gates (he probably had knowledge of them) but there is no proof that he was actually able to use them.

Also in the manga, we don't really see any connection between Guy and Minato.

So i have to answer no to your question.
