If there is an already existing opening to take advantage of then yes minato certainly wins but that could be said about anyone.
Using itachi is a sure fire way to bring out the trolls and fan boys.If you asked who is smarter Itachi through individual counts of people vouching for his intellect would come out in top.Minato's resengan can't pierce his suusano especially if kirin can't.

It's not easy itachi is powerful but minato wins I've explained before how I think it would go and I just can't bring myself to do it again. Itachi's a cool customer though
