Minato failed to save Kushina or his students. Rin died. Obito got captured and fell to the dark side due to Madara's influence. Kakashi was blinded in one eye. He condemned his own son to living as an orphan, and left Hiruzen to defend the village he couldn't save himself.

Itachi prevented a war, kept Tobi at bay, prevented the Uchiha rebellion and took it all on himself. He broke Edo Tensei on himself and stopped Edo Tensei to basically win half the war himself.

Nah that's chalked up to Itachi more, actually. He broke Edo Tensei and allowed the Alliance to come back Naruto and Bee up. Unless you would seriously argue that Naruto, Bee, Guy and Kakashi were going to stop the Juubi alone, let alone Madara and Obito. Oh yeah and let's not forget Itachi's words to Sasuke caused him to bring the Edo Hokage back.

You forgot the part where Itachi inadvertently turned his brother into an outcast and made life a living hell for him. He even admitted later on that all of it could have been avoided had he consulted Sasuke before going on with his plan.

itachi never faced kyuubi or juubi or madara... fightin kyuubi on one side and obito on the other is not possible for some itachi level shinobi's.. still minato chased away obito n came to save village n successfully sealed kyuubi... flying with kyuubi performing reaper death seal n sealing kyuubi using eight tetragram seal ...and most of all now he controls kurama's chakra ...and as for itachi he himself stated tahe he failed in everything he did ...he said that instead slaughtering uchiha clan he could have let sasuke persuade his father thereby stopping uchihas coup de tat on village... i respect for wat itachi did... whatever itachi suffered was due to his own fault ...he agreed to it ...if u are still thinking that itachi won in the end bro ur maturity level is close to zero

Minato did his job- kept the body count to a minimum and anticipated the enemy's intention and made an intricate plan for the future within a short span of time.

Itachi carried his flag forward and bought more time for the village and that plan to take it's shape properly.

They are two piece, both of which did their job- had to make painful decisions which were not in their personal interest or their families' but helped rest of the village. Neither deserve stupid bashing.

Leave it at that instead of silly flame war.
