• Tsukuyomi can only be countered by Uchihas.
• Kakashi commented Itachi's Tsukuyomi could have ended him if he wanted Kakashi to die.
• Tsukuyomi is instant. Minato isn't breaking out of it.

Minato is powerful, but people stretch his arsenal and say he can beat people like Itachi. He can, it's just Itachi has the better cards.​

Actually you can tell that Minato was only look at him because he was in-tangled at that monemt... Minato knew that he couldn't use his genjutsu as he was in-tangled at the time, which is why he through it at his face.

You can see in this picture that he doesn't look at his eyes, because he wasn't in-tangled...

He's the hokage of the leaf and was around when the Uchiha clan was active and alive.. I'm sure he knows about them, it's completely illogical to say otherwise.

Maybe if tsukiyome was easy to prepare for. But itachi has been known to get everyone in it at the beginning of a fight without then ever having a chance to prepare for it

• The partner method can defeat Tsukuyomi, when Itachi's, Kakashi's, Saskura's, Chiyo's and Naruto's bout near the beginning of Shippuden clearly illustrated that this wasn't the case.

Frogs aren't breaking Minato out of Tsukuyomi. Sorry.

Moreover, stating Minato knows of Tsukuyomi specifically is pure conjecture. While it's acceptable to believe Minato has a fairly substantial knowledge on the Uchiha, to say he knows of an extremely rare Mangekyō Sharingan technique is pushing it.​

He doesn't need to know of Tsukuyomi. Fearing Genjutsu is enough to make him not look into his eyes. And like I said, Minato never looked in his eyes when he wasn't intangible. But he did it because he was in ghost mode.

Finally, a decent, acceptable post. You make some good points, though do not forget Itachi also has finger Genjutsu...he can stimulate reality perfectly; Minato hasn't shown any feats in breaking Genjutsu, thus, it's not a stretch to say that Itachi could fool Minato with the Genjutsu long enough for Itachi to seal/kill Minato.

And no, just saying "Minato is smart" is nowhere near an adequate argument; Orochimaru is extremely intelligent yet he made these mistakes of getting caught in Itachi's Genjutsu.

In conclusion, Itachi simply has more versatile jutsu, and a wider arsenal of techniques at his disposal. Through his intellect, he can employ them perfectly and best Minato. Know that it would be an extremely close fight and both sides would struggle.​

If you look on the first page, i already explained that.... Another thing is that Finger Genjutsu can be broken out of if you have knowledge of being in it. It's not just a case of pointing a finger either... It takes time to prepare!
