Minato and the 'child of the prophecy'

Does anyone else wonder how Minato could have been the 'child of the prophecy'? Sure he had the right will and beliefs for it, but it was stated that he killed over a thousand ninja enemy shinobi from other villages during the thrid shinobi world war. He would have had to get through to the whole world to inspire peace, but I'm pretty sure that there would be quite a few shinobi from those respective villages that would not be willing enough to consider him a hero or an ally. I respect Minato and all, but IMO his reputation as a Konoha war hero who killed over 1,000 ninja in the shinobi war doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that's searching for peace.

He didn't kill them for no reason he was defending his village

Naruto has an overall theme runnign through it that not everyone is inherently evil and that even though you might think your intentions are good someone standing on the outside might think the opposite

Its about people and there wills conflicting just like the real world over here we get this message fed to use that people in the mid east are bad and vice versa

There are only a handful of Shinobi who have never killed before. Being a Shinobi basically means being a soldier. There's bound to be death along the way. (Which is the exact thing that should be changed.)

Naruto has the benefit of fighting against plants and Edo puppets in this war.

I understand your point. What I mean is that Minato's actions were only benefiting Konoha, and not really the other shinobi nations as a whole.

Well for one I don't think Minato is the Child of Prophecy, but even still I don't understand what you're trying to say. Yea he killed people but he did so to defend his village and loved ones. It's no different than just about every fight we've seen in Naruto. Even Naruto at one point wanted revenge so bad on Pein that he gave into the nine tails in an effort to kill him. If it weren't for Minato intervening and talking to Naruto, Naruto would've been consumed with the thought of revenge.

In order to obtain peace, the ninja world must change. In other words, lots of ninja have killed other ninja and lots of ninja have been consumed with revenge. So it's not just Minato and Naruto. What makes them child of prophecy candidates is the fact that they realize the way things currently are is wrong and they seek to change it along with changing the minds of everyone who is still consumed with war and hatred in order to create a new peaceful world.

You already admitted that Minato wasn't just some mindless killer but he did so for good intentions so I'm sure you know that if he had it his way there probably wouldn't have been a need for a war to start with. So I'm not sure what your meaning of 'child of prophecy' is but the fact that Minato has killed someone to protect people doesn't disqualify him as a pursuer of peace

we don't know exactly why jiraiya thought of minato as the "child of prophecy".
we do know that nagato was jiraiyas first student. jiraiya thought of nagato as the "child of prophecy", because of his rinnegan. there must have been something about minato that gave him the same impression, therefore believing in him as the one.

Yeah but Minato's actions only benefited Konoha and only created many more enemies in the other villages.

I understand what you mean, I think that Minato knew deep down he wasn't the child of prophecy and that contributed to him sealing the 9 tails inside Naruto.
