Minato could've lived. He had other options Kushina confirmed. The main reason off his decision was off a hunch from Jiraya. It was absolutely horrible parenting to leave your child alone with no parents and demon inside of him. Get over it.

Are you forgetting Kurama tried to kill Naruto the moment he had the chance? You also act as if it's an easy decision to kill your wife the hours after she gave birth to her first child. He can't put it back in kushina cuz she was gonna die leaving konoha without a bijuu (the very thing the masked man came for) so that's not an option.

He can't put all of it in himself as he admitted.

He can't put all of it in naruto.

Bad fathers don't develop an attachment to something born a few hours ago. Then proceed to die for it and leave their essence (along with the child's mother) inside of him.

Not to mention he was father for about 3 hours before shit hit the fan and within those hours he saved his son and wife as many times as he could.

His plan was ruined when both Kushina and himself jumped infront of Kurama's claw. Like what Sasuke did in the land of waves arc, their bodies just moved on their own. He did not intend to leave Naruto an orphan.

It's an unfortunate incident due to the Uchihas which is why i'm glad there's 3 of them left. But without them being killed by two teens and Kurama killing Naruto's parents we wouldn't have much of a series.

They didin't have the speed though. If you payed attention you'd know Minato was already fatigued from using RDS on himself and Kushina having had kurama restricted and having him ripped from her moments after childbirth. Imagine the amount of blood loss she was going through.

I will concede that they were both fatigued from chakra and blood loss, but that didn't exactly detriment their speed capabilities. If you watched the video and payed attention to their distances from Naruto, you would notice that Kushina was 10 feet away (which is why she got there first and ended up in front) and Minato was at least 30 maybe 40 feet away. When I mentioned that Minato had speed that made him capable of grabbing Naruto and moving from the speeding claw, I said nothing about him using chakra as a boost. Minato's travel speed alone was fast enough to clear 30-40 feet in a matter of seconds to intercept the claw from Naruto. If he could move that fast in such little time with such a large distance to cover, he could have ran fast enough to grab Naruto and get out of the way rather than intercept the claw. It was his poor instinct in a moment of desperation to save Naruto that killed him.​
