Minas Morgul

The former home to the Nekura Clan, Minas Morgul is a dark mountain that borders the Kaijuu Ocean. Residents from Last Bastion were able to see the peak of the mountain in the far distance from their homes, serving as a constant reminder of the fear and terror that exists outside their walls. At the peak of the mountain was the Nekura fortress, surrounded by a large moat and drawbridge which serves to ward off most would-be attackers that would dare strike at the fortress. Now it lies abandoned, the Adherents defacing the dark fortress in the name of their Goddess.

Alucard continued south after his endeavours from the battle in the Hellmouth. He planned to use the southern port from Minas Morgul to sail back to Moon Isle, his home.

Leaving the desolate ruins of Gondolin behind, Faye set her sights on the foreboding peak of Minas Morgul. The dark mountain, bordering the vast Kaijuu Ocean, loomed in the distance. Its presence was a constant reminder of the fear and terror that lay beyond the safety of Last Bastion’s walls. Once a stronghold of the Nekura, the fortress atop the mountain was now abandoned and defaced by the Adherents in the name of their sinister Goddess.

As Faye approached Minas Morgul, the landscape became increasingly hostile. The air was thick with an oppressive sense of dread, and the sky was a perpetual twilight, shrouded in heavy, rolling clouds. The ground was rocky and treacherous, coated with a slick, oily residue left by the Adherents. Each step toward the fortress was filled with a growing sense of unease.

Crossing the drawbridge, Faye entered the fortress grounds, her senses heightened. The dark waters of the moat lay still and silent, while the fortress walls, once intimidating, were now covered in graffiti and strange symbols of defilement—a testament to the Adherents' desecration.

Hello?” Faye called out, her voice echoing through the desolate silence. “Is anyone here?

Only the hollow echo of her words responded. She pressed on, navigating through the dark corridors. Ancient banners hung tattered from the walls, and the floor was strewn with debris and broken weapons. The fortress felt like a tomb, abandoned and forgotten.

As she ventured deeper into the fortress, Faye's unease grew. The shadows seemed to shift with a life of their own, and faint whispers echoed just beyond her perception. She reached a large, ornate door, its surface covered in intricate carvings and runes that glowed faintly in the dim light.

Taking a deep breath, Faye pushed the door open and stepped inside. The room beyond was vast, dominated by a large, circular platform in the center. On the platform stood a pedestal, similar to the one she had seen in Gondolin. She approached it cautiously, her senses alert.

A few Genki floated around aimlessly, their ethereal forms shifting in the dim light. “I'm looking for answers,” Faye said, her voice steady. “What happened here? Where did everyone go?

One of the Genki shrugged, while another responded, “The people have been taken by a force beyond this realm, a darkness that consumes all in its path.”

Faye's heart sank. "Are you referring to the being known as El?"

The Genki floated closer, its expression unreadable. “El? I don’t know what that is. All I know is the darkness is everywhere and nowhere. It is a void that cannot be easily traversed. It cannot be found; only it can find you.

Before Faye could ask more, the Genki disappeared, leaving her alone once again. She turned back to the pedestal, her mind racing. “Would be nice if we could somehow friggin' get its attention,” she muttered.

Deciding to rest, Faye moved to one of the rooms in the fortress, tidying it up and setting up camp. “I guess I’ll rest for a while,” she said, lying down on an old but still functional bed. Her thoughts lingered on her encounter with El and how she might contact him again. She was nowhere near finding any answers, but for now, she needed to gather her strength for the journey ahead.
