Sorry for taking so long, but here we go. Kuchi strikes again :scorps:
Many are disappointed with Bleach's ending (including myself), but the end to Yhwach seems to be getting the most stones thrown at it even though it makes the most sense out of this clusterbang of an ending. I'll explain:
Yhwach seems all powerful until you break him down properly. Let's start with his defeat. The Shinigami were much weaker when he was defeated the first time. Consider how much stronger they all got after fighting Aizen. I don't feel like proving the obvious with scans, but I'll be happy to post some if I get enough requests.
Next, we tackle his return. He had to use Auswählen to return to the world during his power restoration period. Auswählen is his crutch.
Upon his return, he stole the strongest Bankai and was still no match for Ichibei with the "A". The Almighty was what gave him the edge after getting owned. No matter how much he can restore his powers, Ichibei was simply more powerful. He also gained power in his sleep as quincy and Shinigamis fell in battle.
Ichigo had the powers of a few Captains to restore his Shinigami power and a new Zan. This put Ichigo on equal footing with Ichibei, at least, and Yhwach not only needed the Almighty, but also Auswählen. The sternritter were winning their fights, but Yhwach needed help just to weaken Ichigo.
Once Ichigo got his Zan back and Aizen joined the fight, Yhwach had no other Quincy to use Auswählen on except Uryu. But Uryu can reverse Auswählen with his scrift power.
Ultimately Yhwach was out of mulligans and conceded to just laying dormant in the next "Strawberry" until he gets his chance again. Remember, the Ishidas are still Quincy.

Cheers
